Oil prices rebound before OPEC meet next week

Oil prices fall after spike above $62

LONDON (AFP) – Oil traded lower on Thursday as investors cashed in profits after an overnight rally that pushed prices above 62 dollars, traders said.

Gasoline prices jump past $2

The average price of gasoline in the U.S. jumped 2.8 cents overnight to $2.169 for regular Friday, an enormous leap by recent standards.
The average is up 12.2 cents the past month, after having seemed stuck around $2.

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)–Crude futures traded lower Tuesday amid concerns that the swine flu outbreak would curb oil demand.
Light, sweet crude for June delivery traded traded $1.25, or 2.5%, lower at $48.89 a barrel the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude on the ICE futures exchange traded $1.14 lower at $49.18 a barrel.

LONDON (AFP) — Oil prices Wednesday trimmed losses and pulled away from one-year lows after major central banks surprisingly slashed interest rates in a coordinated move aimed at rescuing the flagging global economy.
